Kathmandu school fires teacher for acting in a sitcom

Kathmandu, July 11

A school in Kathmandu has fired its teacher for acting in a sitcom.

Deependra Prasain says Bagmati Boarding School in Sukedhara of Kathmandu fired him for acting in the television show, Comedy Hub.

Prasain was working at the institution for the past five years.

Prasain says he was fired after the show presented bad practices of profit-oriented schools and colleges in Kathmandu.

The school principal Narayan Sitaula says Prasain, however, was not fired. “We had employed him full-time, but since he could not give sufficient time,” he says, “we have asked him to do it part-time. He connected this with his sitcom.”
