KATHMANDU, March 20: Chairman of CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli on Sunday asked the Election Commission (EC) why it has given only two days to file candidacy for the local level elections.
Chairman Oli also accused the ruling alliance of misusing the poll body, addressing a public gathering at Fikal, Illam.
“Earlier, the poll body used to grant one day to file nominations, this time it has given two days,” Oli said. “Is it for addressing issues of the coalition?” Oli questioned.
Oli also maintained that nominations of candidates are carried out in a single day throughout the globe. “It is not the duty of the EC to address the issues of the coalition” , he further said.
Oli also warned the poll body not to act in the favor of any political parties, maintaining that the poll body has already acted in favor of the ruling Nepali Congress giving a green color to the ballot paper.
