No green light from PM Deuba to reshuffle Cabinet until the end of budget session | Ratopati

KATHMANDU, June 23: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is not likely to reshuffle the Cabinet until the end of the ongoing budget session despite pressures from his coalition partner.

CPN (Unified Socialist) has been pressuring the government to reshuffle the Council of Ministers, recalling its ministers from the government and proposing new names for the posts.

According to Jagannath Kathiwada, spokesperson for CPN (US), PM Deuba has maintained that he will face problems if he agrees to reshuffle the Cabinet immediately. “He seems in a mood to reshuffle the Cabinet only after the end of the budget session,” Kathiwada added.

Earlier, the CPN (US) had recalled all the ministers except Bhawani Khapung, state minister and proposed names of Jeevan Raj Shrestha, Metmani Chaudhary, Sher Bahadur Kuwar and Hira Chandra KC as new ministers.

Khapung was promoted to the Minister for Health and Population.
