2 killed as Prithvi Highway caves in and buries vehicles in Tanahun

At least two persons died when a section of the Prithvi Highway that connects Kathmandu and Pokhara, two of the biggest cities of Nepal, caved in, burying moving vehicles along the highway.

DSP Yuba Raj Khadka if a nearby police station says a car (Ba 10 Cha 4649) and a motorbike (Ba 33 Pa 1081) have been buried in the landslide in the night.

The two-way transportation along the Muglin-Abukhaireni section of the Prithvi Highway has been blocked since early morning. Hundreds of vehicles have been stuck halfway due to the obstruction.

Meanwhile, the Muglin-Narayangadh section in the neighbouring Chitwan district has also been obstructed due to a landslide at Tope Khola.
