Woman burnt alive in Darchula, two men arrested

Kathmandu, June 8

A single woman has been burnt alive in Darchula of far-western Nepal.

The deceased has been identified as Anibha Kadayat, 40, of Shailyashikhar municipality-1.

According to DSP Pratik Bista of the District Police Office, the woman was killed by setting fire to a haystack near her house on Tuesday night. A team has been mobilised from Area Police Office, Gokuleshwar, to investigate the incident.

The woman’s husband had died around seven years ago. The deceased has two daughters and a son. Police have arrested Birendra Kadayat and Tula Kadayat for investigation.
