Kathmandu, June 7
Police in Kathmandu have arrested a restaurant waiter on the charge of raping an intern at his workplace.
Jeevan Phuyal Khatri, a resident of Tamakoshi rural municipality-6 of the Dolakha district, was working at the Nepal House Restaurant at Hattisar of Kathmandu. Police say an intern working there filed a complaint to the police, saying he raped her a few days ago.
The complaint reads that Phuyal added alcohol to the survivor’s glass of soft drinks and committed the crime while the restaurant owner was hosting a party there.
Police have arrested the accused waiter, informs SP Dinesh Raj Mainali of the Kathmandu Police Range.
Mainali says the District Court has remanded him in custody for a week for further investigation.
