Kathmandu college teacher arrested on sexual abuse charge after students’ protest

Kathmandu, May 24

Police in Kathmandu have arrested a college teacher on the charge of sexual abuse against his students.

After the students launched a demonstration in front of the Gaushala police circle, the police arrested Janardan Adhikari, a teacher at St Lawrence College in Chabahil of Kathmandu.

“We have not received the complaint yet formally. We will make public the details of the incident after receiving the complaint,” SSP Sudeep Giri of the Kathmandu police office says.

The students have claimed the teacher had said he would support the students if they agreed to do whatever he wished, with ill intent, and it amounts to sexual abuse.
