Nepal sends humanitarian aid to Afghanistan | Kathmandu Tribune

KATHMANDU, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) — Nepal on Sunday sent about 12 tons of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, including medicines, garments and utensils, the country’s foreign minister said.

Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka called it Nepal’s “moral responsibility” to offer aid to Afghanistan, a fellow member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, where he said droughts have affected food production and freezing winter is making life difficult.

A chartered flight of the Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China joint venture, flew to Kabul of Afghanistan on the day with the goods, the airport confirmed.

The Himalaya Airlines was carrying out the flight free of charge, while the goods were provided by private enterprises, noted Khadka.
